Great Shoes!

crocs Cayman Sandal
I bought these crocs for my two year old granddaughter - she absolutely loves them! She is able to put them on herself and loves the shoe snap on decorations I also bought for the crocs. We spend alot of time at the lake; these shoes are perfect for going in and out of the water. They are easily cleaned with soapy water too.
Great shoes for a little one!!More detail ...

Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Lo Top Little Kids Black Canvas Shoes size 2
So Cool and No Kicking Off

These shoes are way hip and since they're hightops my kid can't kick them off in the carseat! I haven't heard any complaints about comfort from him either. They have held up through two sons and are a little faded from frequent washing but look all the cooler for it.More detail ...

A Great Shoe But You Have to Get Used to Them

I bought these for my 6 year old daughter. At first she did have a tough time getting them on however after a week or two of daily wear they slip on easily. The charm has broken off but really - who expected this to stay on with normal child's play? It would be totally unrealistic. We haven't experienced any loss of the "twinkles" on the toes or had an problems with the elasticity. I am definitely going to buy her another pair soon. She really loves them and they have held up under heavy play.More detail ...

Best summer shoes ever!

These shoes are everything I was looking for in summer shoes for my daughter (age 3). They're really soft on the inside so she can wear them without socks. They're cool and breathable but still have a closed toe. There's great traction on the bottom so she can run around wherever she wants and not fall down. She loves them and I am so glad I bought these shoes!!More detail ...

Newport - Youth Navy 02 by Keen
Newports are Keen

By far one of the most comfortable if not comfortable shoe or sandal I have ever owned. Now that summer is over and it is late Fall I find myself still wearing these even now that it is colder because they feel so good. I bought mine in May and it is November now. They really are tough to give up. Any reservations I had that they look funky evaporated when I wore them. If they do not feel right when you put them on you probably have the wrong size. Most people that buy Keens find that they need to buy a half size larger than they do with other shoes.
They have a wide toebox so that your toes are not cramped together and they are the first to come out with the protective toe guard. While other companies are starting to put toe guards on their shoes they are not designed to be both protective and completely comfortable like Keens. I never stub a toe or catch a toe on anything with these plus I can hide my ugly toes. It also has a little rise on the rear heel that cups your heel comfortably but also helps protect you against those people that step on the back of your foot. It feels very secure once it is on and does not slip. There are no straps to fool with or Velcro to adjust it has an inner lining that looks like the neoprene on a scuba suit it stretches to fit. It has a no lace closure and you set it once from then on it slips on easy. The metatomic footbed cradles my foot like no shoe I have ever seen. A feature I had not experienced before in any shoe is the little ridge on the inner sole that runs behind the toes and in between your big toe and other toes. The first time you feel it is a surprise but it turns out to add to the comfort of the shoe immensely. That ridge forms in a short time to your foot giving you your own custom fit. Keens shoes are invented by a doctor who studied the anatomy of the foot very closely and it shows. I hate to gush about this but the shape of this shoe inside and out gives me a sensation that the shoe is part of me and I can stand longer and walk longer... it makes me feel like running. I first saw these on some ultralight backpackers I met they swore by them.
It has an anatomical outer sole that is very grippy with a nice athletic shape it gives good traction on sand dirt boulders mud you name it. It is not slippery on the boat or dock and the sole does not leave any marks. It is made in such a way that it does not hold dirt in any grooves to track ion on my carpet either. It is great for water and you can wear it into the stream pool or sea. If it gets wet for some reason you don't feel it due to the material that wicks the water away. It has an anti-microbial treatment that takes away any germs.
The first Newport that came out has leather trim but it is officially waterproof. The newer Newport H2 is made of completely synthetic materials and it holds up better in the long run as far as repeated wettings and mud. When my H2's get dirty I throw them in the sink under the hose or even in the washer and they come out like new. I wore these almost daily for 4 months straight with no evidence of wear. This includes standing in line all day at theme parks and scrambling at the beach and lava rocks on Maui. These come in many colors. Keens makes other great shoes like the Providence boots clogs and tennis shoes. My other favorite sandals are for dressier occasions they are the black Rieker Anti-Stress Jens 09176 and the Dunham Moose Fisherman (actually designed by New Balance).

KEEN Newport H2 Sandal - Infant/Toddler
Excellent Sport Sandal - I'm a Fan for Life

I resisted for a while (years) while my wife raved about her Keen sandals. I like Tevas (Terra Fi 2) and have owned many pairs over the past 10 years. Love them for warm weather hiking around the water and general warm/wet conditions. But I finally gave these Keens a try after wearing out the soles of my Tevas.
The reviewers are right on. They feel like sneakers and I wear them all day with pleasure. These are a great buy. I'm going to buy another pair of Teva Terra Fi 2s also but I do love these Keens.
Pros:
- Rugged build
- Great traction (I think the Tevas are a little better but I hardly notice the difference - that's the key detail)
- I bought the mostly nylon (not leather) version (brown/bison) and they do dry quickly. My wife has the leather version and they're significantly slower to dry - overnight at least.
- Extremely comfortable to wear all day
- I never have to adjust these - they stay on my feet in all conditions with no worries
- Look good with everything
- There is a nice sense of comfort with that toe protector on the front
- Wide toe bed - very nice
Cons if I have to name some (certainly won't deter me from buying these again):
- In the sun the toe bed/cap does get hot on your toes if you hang out in direct sun for a while
- I agree with the other reviews (not necessarily on Amazon) that you'll read regarding the "funk". Yes these do get funky/smelly very quickly - much more quickly than my Tevas ever did. But hey they're outdoor sandals. Throw them into the washing machine or go swimming with them every 3-4 days and you're set.
The "funk" reputation worried me a little so I held off buying these but I can live with it. It's not as bad as I expected. And these are super comfortable!
Added after owning for six months:
I think the Teva Terra Fi 2 probably have a slight edge when it comes to rafting/boating because they dry in record time and you can really tighten them so they don't shift on your foot. So I'd give them a slightly higher score in terms of functionality for the very active or career outdoors folks.
Also I do get annoyed at the gravel that gets stuck in the toe bed of these - I can't shake it loose so I have to take them off and turn them upside down. This wasn't an issue with the Teva open toe design and I kind of miss those days. Last pet peeve: despite what my wife says (she has same kind of Keens) the tread just isn't as good as the Teva's. Conclusion I have to buy both for the forseeable future - they're both solid products and I won't give up either.
Latest and Last Update: the sole gave out in less than a year - literally pieces/chunks fell off. I'm back to Tevas and happier with the much more reliable tread. The Tevas dry much much faster also. I think the Keens are really for wearing when you want to pretend you're doing something active outdoors - they were fine for just walking.

My kid loves it every minute

This is my first one's third crocs... he loves it wearing this everyday just like the others he had before. The design is a little different than the infant ones as the ankle band is a little tighter than the sole size (which i think it's intended). Good product and definitely recommendable.More detail ...

Nice weightlifting shoe!

Well I use these for weightlifting and they perform well. They are completely flat so it gives my feet a very stable resting place when performing squats deadlifts and other heavy movements. Also a side benefit is that it saves my other shoes from taking the beating making them last much longer since soft shoes wear out very easy under heavy stress.
I highly recommend this shoe for lifting.More detail ...

Very comfortable very cool

What is there to say about these shoes besides the fact that they're very comfortable feel great (redundancy) and look good? Not much I guess. What else do you say about shoes? Did I mention that these shoes feel great on the feet as they would feel anywhere else? Seriously buy a pair if you're into that whole wearing-shoes thing. $40 or so for a great pair of shoes very good deal. I mean you could do a lot worse; you could be spending any money at all on a pair of Crocs. (Whatever America did to deserve those we sincerely apologize.) Anyway wearing them with a pair of shorts is fine but if you're vain when it comes to your legs or you're not quite ready to let your friends know that you too shave the fuzz from your legs wear these Originals with a pair of trousers khaki or gray whatever you're feeling. The shoes are casually athletic like white guys who say "Yeah I play soccer" but in fact have never played soccer for a recreational team and have little-to-none-at-all knowledge about the sport but the idea sounds good. What's better than running around on green grass sometimes getting to kick a ball in short shorts and a jersey giving yourself and others the impression that you're athletic? You're fooling everyone don't worry. And after you wipe your forehead and throw your short bangs back covered in sweat after you trot over to the sideline breathing hard grab a towel wipe yourself off sit down in the grass and not the bleachers (on purpose of course; athletes don't sit in seating apparatuses) take off those hopefully-filthy cleats and slip on these cool-as-hell vintage shoes. I promise they will reinforce your image as an athlete. Did I mention they feel like a foot-rub given by the most beautiful girl in the world? Please wear these shoes with a sense of honor: be yourself and for God's sakes don't pop your collar.More detail ...

New Keen Newport H2 Black/Greenery 13 Kids Sandals $50
9999 shoes later I found my love!

Ok I confess it kills me to spend $50 on shoes. But at 38 and on my feet all day plus filling in the mid-drift...The shoes I wore in the young hottie days are getting their revenge. Worse yet...at a size 10.5-11 W I canNOT find shoes to fit.
In need of some water wading shoes I found a purple pair of this model (incorrectly shown as red on this site) that I thought was too "off color" for professional wear but worthy of play shoes...for a clearance price of $30 comfort to please my desperation who could deny the deal?
SHOOT. I don't care if they had bright flashing fuschia blinkers and a whoopie cushion to boot. These shoes rock.
I live 3 hrs from the Birkenstock place I found them in WA and when I head back that direction I am clearing the Keen sale shelf and buying a reg priced pair that is appropriate in style for professional wear. The shoe is kind of wierd looking..but I see Birkenstocks as wierd looking (which didnt work out for me--very painful).
If you have plantar faciatis (sp?) problems here is a house shoe answer. See I also drop these shoes next to my bed so I can make it to the bathroom in the middle of the night without tearing up my arches. They are SO comfortable.
And the shoe is breathable but not cold not hot not prone to stretching with sock on no sock wear.
It's years of shoe nightmares come to an end. I have had 'em for 6 weeks now weigh 235 lbs (fluffy amazon chick) and the shoe looks like it will hold it's own--wet or dry. A challenge considering size 6 110 lb girl shoes are made with the same materials as the larger sizes...like harnessing up a chihuahua the same as a St.Bernard!
Hope this helps. These shoes are my hunt completed.Oh it appears all shoes are made with the same funky loveable sole.More detail ...

Converse Kid's Chuck Taylor All Star Ox (Youth) Size 4 Pink/White
the only shoe...ever made.

"Chucks" are the only shoes that have ever existed. Ever since 1923 Chuck Taylor All-Stars have been "just a piece of rubber and canvas"- they haven't changed one bit from the sands of time. These shoes are devilishly simple and customizable in every way. Everyone may be wearing Chucks these days but you can still make them your own. There are so many ways- what color would you like? One of the core colors- black and white? Monochrome black? White? Red? Green? Blue? Pink? How about the latest pattern or print? Every year Converse also pumps out new seasonal colors and different styles such as double-tongued shoes "tear-aways" faded looking ones everything. You can buy different color laces or you can go crazy with a Sharpie and draw up some art all over your shoes. And for something seemingly so flimsy they're pretty durable. My shoes have withstood countless running and hitting the asphalt games of soccer basketball jumping from everywhere the basic abuse a teen can dish out to his feet. Granted they may not be too comfortable at first but once your feet gets used to them well you don't even notice you're wearing them anymore. Nevertheless it does have some setbacks but if you look at modern shoes you can see the differences in design. But for something from over 3/4 of a century ago you've got to admit they're pretty darn impressive. The skinny:
PROS
-customizable in any way- laces can be easily replaced and be done up in any pattern you wish
-look great with anything and everything; the unisex casual sneaker that will even draw you the occasional compliment from coworkers or friends.
-lightweight compared to most shoes of today
-so many colors- from your basic core colors (black red green blue white or pink) to different designs (60s tie dye camo skulls flames etc.)
-also different kinds of shoes- from the classics to the newer double uppers tear-aways (shoes with two layers of canvas and some parts are already torn away to show the brighter underlayer) double-tongued and also DIFFERENT MATERIALS like leather or suede.
CONS
-the color fades; especially in the harsh sun. My navy blue Taylors have been bleached to the color of very faded blue denim.
-the rubber parts of the shoe can get dirty rather quickly but are easily cleanable.
-overall the shoe is pretty comfortable but not recommended for prolonged running or a whole day on the boardwalk. It depends a lot on the shape of your foot- if your feet are flat you'll find that these shoes are a match made in heaven. Otherwise you may have some issues but not so bad they're unwearable.
-I don't know what it is about it but they make your feet look bigger than they really are.
-NOT TO BE USED AS A SKATE SHOE. Converse shoes are made from canvas which won't give you any mercy from runaway boards and they do NOT have adequate cushioning on the top bottom or sides for such an activity.
NOTE: BUY A HALF-SIZE SMALLER THAN WHAT YOU'RE AIMING FOR. A Converse size 10 is in reality a 10 1/2.
ANOTHER NOTE: If this bothers you then you should know. Chucks are no longer manufactured in the USA. They are now outsourced to other countries mostly China. Your Chucks won't be falling apart on you or anything but know that Converse is now a subsidiary of Nike a company known to use sweatshop labor to make their shoes.More detail ...
